Scholarship Foundation

 

Interested in applying for a C.A.R. Scholarship, but have a question? Here are a few of the most frequently asked questions.

Q. How many C.A.R. Scholarships may I win per year and throughout my studies at a California college or university?
A. An Applicant may win up to 1 per calendar year and 2 total in his or her lifetime.

Q. How often does the Foundation award scholarships?
A. The C.A.R. Scholarship Foundation awards scholarships 1 time a year during the Spring C.A.R. Business Meetings, which take place in Sacramento each year. 

Q: How do I apply for a C.A.R. Scholarship?
A: Our application is posted on our Scholarship page. The application includes a checklist of items that need to be submitted in order for your application to be considered complete.

Q: Is there anything else I need to do in addition to submitting an application?
A: Yes, there will a phone interview. A Scholarship Foundation Trustee will contact you approximately 1-2 weeks after the application deadline

Q: When will I find out whether I received a scholarship?
A: Letters are mailed/emailed to all of the applicants approximately 4-5 weeks after the application deadline to inform them whether they received an award or not. 

Q: Can I sumbit unofficial transcripts?
A: Applicants must submit official transcripts for schools attended in the past 4 years.

Q. What is the minimum GPA requirement?
A. Students must have maintained a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher from all colleges/universities attended.

Q. I am a freshman student at a 2 year college and currently enrolled in one real estate course, does this qualify me for a scholarship?
A. Students must be enrolled at the time of application in a minimum of 6 units. At least 1 course must be Real Estate or Real Estate related. Students must also have completed a minimum of 12 college level course units with the last 4 years. At least 2 courses must have been real estate or real estate related courses.

Q. If I am a high school student interested in pursuing a career in the real estate field, do I quality for a scholarship?
A. No, an individual must be currently enrolled in a 2 or 4 year college in California and already have completed 12 units.
